This infogram represented myself and showed the sports enthusiast I am. It was done to show the accomplishments of one of my childhood heroes growing up, Kobe Bryant. I tried to use techniques and principles discussed in class to make this project stand out. I don’t know if it accounted for the beautiful aspect, but the truthful, functional, insightful and enlightening aspects were touched upon. This was the most tedious of all the assignments this semester with the photos and text boxes needing to be adjusted and resized.

This audio assignment showed you the passion I have for sports and gave you an insight into the type of career that is my dream. Being on sports talk radio is my dream job. This shows a lot of what I do with my friends when we get together. We like to talk about sports and what we think were good moves and bad moves. Being able to share a little bit of my passion in the form I wish to make a living was enjoyable.

This is the photo I used for my digital assignment. This represents me because it shows you my daughter and the side of my life of being a father. I am not like normal college student being older and having a family while attending San Diego State University full time. This photo shows what a lot of my life consists of outside of school and work. I used the rule of thirds in this photo.

1. My digital self is a father who has a passion for sports and making his family’s life better by pursuing a degree at a time when most people don’t ever go back to college. My assignments have shown this because I have incorporated a little of my family and a little of my passion for sports. I want to be a sports radio talk show host, or something along those lines would be my dream job.
2. This class has given me insight into things that I use everyday, but never knew the nuances of how it all worked and operated until I took this class. From the way menus are laid out on a website to how certain areas of the page having text or pictures to capture the attention of the reader, these are things that when just web surfing the average person does not think about. Now I am critical of the web pages I visit.
3. The principles and design of this course that resonated with me the most were the principles of audio. As someone who wishes to pursue a career in radio, it was the most informational and interesting portion of the class for me. I hope I can take the tools and knowledge I have learned in this course and apply it to my future career.
4. Creating these assignments were enjoyable because it allowed me to create and express something that I am passionate about. Whether it be my daughter, sports or something else. When I am allowed to make assignments that have a personal meaning or have a personal sentiment it makes them much more enjoyable. The infographic was probably the most tedious of them all because of having to make sure all the text and images were aligned and not overlapping.
5. To create my digital assignment I used my iPhone X to take the picture of my daughter and was able to crop and edit the image on the phone before sending it to myself for this assignment. I used this device because it has the capabilities of taking professional quality photos. For my infographic I used infogram.com and chose a basic layout to make the chart on Kobe Bryant’s career. I chose this website because I felt it gave me the most options for layouts to pick from. For my audio assignment I used the program Audacity to create the audio clip. I chose to use this program because it is a program that I have already used in some capacity prior to taking this course. I knew how to operate the program as a beginner level, which was all that was required to complete the assignment.
6. The most challenging moment for me in completing all these assignments were not necessarily the assignment itself, but trying to keep track of all the assignments and due dates while trying to juggle other classes that were not originally online and trying to organize my schedule around those courses changing. In addition, becoming my child’s teacher in a home school role because of the corona virus has made it difficult to focus as much as I wanted to this semester.
7. The most enjoyable part of creating this assignments was I got to choose something that I was passionate about on all the assignments. I was not forced to research and learn about something that did not interest me. Being able to learn and gain this knowledge on the parts of my career that I want to pursue is invaluable. I hope I can take this knowledge and apply it in a useful way.
